Montessori 0-3 and 3-6 Diplomas, along with various certifications for attending workshops on autism, ADHD, and related topics.

08:00 – 08:30 | Arrival | o When the children arrive, they first hang their bags on their hooks. o They take their message books out of their bags and place it in the message book box. o Outdoor play until 08:30. |
08:30 – 08:45 | Assembly | o The children join the assembly with the rest of the school. o Morning prayers are said. o The children then move into the classroom and get ready for ring time. o Topics such as: our world, the universe, planets, animals, careers, insects, etc. o Themes are covered in-depth and could run for as long as 6 weeks. Part of the theme is also a presentation of work either in the literary, numeracy or culture area. |
08:45 – 09:15 | Ring time | o Themes are discussed, songs, rhymes, poetry, conversation, music and movement and one presentation given to the class from any of the modules. |
09:15 – 10:15 | Work cycle | o Children are allowed free choice of work from the shelf. o The teachers observe and monitor what the child is doing and present activities from the children to different children. |
10:15 – 11:00 | Snack time | o Snack time o Outdoor play |
11:00 – 12:00 |
o Some children work with Montessori activities from the shelf. o At the same time some children are being assessed with letters of the alphabet and numbers and some children are also busy with art and are moved along accordingly by their teachers. o Depending on the ability of the child in the maths area the children are taken up to and including the decimal system as well as the four operations in maths – addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. o In the language area the child is also taken to reading up to 3 and 4 letter phonetic words, depending on the ability of that child. o In the last 30 minutes of the day, Grade R work is done with the children; focusing on fine motor skills, visual discrimination, bilateral integration, auditory discrimination, spatial relationship, writing, reading, numeracy, etc. o The children are also allowed free and pretend play |

o Pack away their books and tidy up the class room o The children put the fruit they have brought into a bowl which is communally cut up and served in the last 15 minutes of the day. o Goodbye Song o Home time |
