Hall of Fame

Welcome to our Hall of Fame where we showcase parent testimonials. Find out what some of our parents had to say about their child’s time at the school and his/her development journey.

The Busy Bees Workshop holds a special place in my heart. It is not just a school; it became my kids second home, and the staff became family. When having kids, you always want the best, but with that comes the stress of whether my kids will be in good hands at the school I enroll them at, especially in the first years of preschool. You always hear terrible stories in the news about how certain daycares mistreat little ones, etc. Well, a couple of years ago, before I had my own kids, I worked at The Busy Bees Workshop. I have seen how these staff treated kids who were strangers to them as their own and how they taught with love and compassion and had this motherly way to them, and immediately, I knew the day I had my own, this is where I would want them to be, even though I no longer worked at Busy Bees for years. That was always my first and only option. I even told my husband this is the only school I entrust with our kids, and, alghamdulilah, our son and daughter got the privilege to attend Busy Bees. Teacher Shameema has a vision for these kids, and it takes such compassion, love, patience, and commitment for what you do to make a success, and it definitely shows in each child, who has their own uniqueness. Both my kids have left Busy Bees and gone to big school, but they would continuously say they miss the school and always ask to have play dates at the school. I believe in investing in your child or children. There is nothing better than starting off with a solid foundation at a good school.

The Busy Bees Workshop has a very special place in our hearts. Under the exceptional management of Mrs Shameema Survé and her team of educators, the school functions for the right reasons and we are happy, grateful and honoured to have been part of such a wonderful institution. At The Busy Bees Workshop the principal and teachers believe in developing and guarding a child's worth. A love for learning and a love for life – not just a love for getting straight A’s - was cultivated. Learning was a cooperative effort and it encompassed many spheres resulting in a positive developmental phase for our children. Both our children (Masud Ahmed and Amina) acquired their early learning and social skills at The Busy Bees Workshop and developed self-confidence in whatever they undertook. Subsequently, they have excelled at primary and high school and all this due to the fact that at the The Busy Bees Workshop, a strong foundation for a lifetime of learning was put in place. To The Busy Bees Workshop thank you for everything you have done and will continue to do for the community in order to create a better future for all. Thank you once again and all the best.

The Busy Bees Workshop has been a part of our lives and family for the past four years. Two of our three children have attended the school and we cannot wait for our youngest to attend as well! Busy Bees produces a confident, well-adjusted child with an enquiring mind; our son completed his Grade R there and made a seamless transition to Grade 1 at Plumstead Preparatory. In many instances he has come home and proudly exclaimed that he learnt something that he had already been introduced to while at Busy Bees! Furthermore, the school has such a warm, family atmosphere that one cannot help but fall in love with it! Again, this was the perfect environment for our daughter who is a timid, gentle soul but who blossomed into a confident, (still gentle!) little person during her time at Busy Bees. As parents these are the hallmarks of a good, loving school, but it is also the strong sense of family and community spirit with like-minded teachers and parents that will always make Busy Bees hold a special place in our family and lives <3 We wish them all of the best for the future Insha-Allah as they soar onwards and upwards!"

It was an easy choice for me to enrol my daughter at Busy Bees because I was a student assistant at the school. It is clear that Shameema has motherly and nurturing qualities about her that allows her to bring out the best in her pupils. Shameema never gives up on the students. Hanan was very shy and lacked confidence and had difficulty with visual perception. However, Shameema was able to steer Hanan in overcoming these obsticales, allowing a confident and independent individual. Shameema always commits herself to putting the interest of the children first. She never gives up on her students. She allows the children freedom to explore and experience new things through play and fun. Hanan was sad leaving Busy Bees because of the warm family atmosphere and fond memories. She has excellent results at her primary school all thanks to the committed effort of all the teachers at Busy Bees.

In 2008 we enrolled our daughter Aishah Sibda at a highly recommended Busy Bees Workshop which was neatly tucked away in a side street . We were not disappointed at all ! Her early foundation years here have set her up to adequately deal with her formal schooling as well as at Madressah . Busy Bees teaching staff efficiently guided by Principal Shameema Surve have displayed commitment surpassing par excellence in raising emotionally intelligent and responsible children. The results of the quality foundation years are clearly evident when we attend school gatherings and functions at her primary school which she now attends . One can clearly see the difference in display of character amongst the children and Busy Bees Kids do stand out ! The Busy Bees staff did not only educate but also got involved in addressing social issues and effectively assisted numerous children. Much of Aishah’s performance is a result of the dedicated teachers at Busy Bees , the quality service and high standard of education . We are eternally grateful to them all . We wish them all the success and may they continue to raise future leaders from this respected institution .

There comes a time when every parent has to decide of where to start their daughter or son’s academic career. Choosing the right institution is no easy task. Preschool can be described as the first stepping stone of the academic path. The biggest and the brightest stones are not necessarily the best ones to tread on. It is usually the ones that lie unassumingly but firmly grounded. This is how I can describe Busy Bees preschool.Having gone through quite a few transitions with both my daughters, I can truly say sending them to Busy Bees was a wise decision. Thank you, Shameema and team for all your support and the wonderful service you provide in our community. Looking back on my pre-school years, I can honestly say that I was very privileged. As a student in my primary school, I realised that I was one of the very few who could read before going to primary school, “the few” being myself and my friend, who had also attended Busy Bees. But now I realise Busy Bees had not only provided an academic advantage but also life-long friends, mine still being my best friend of nine years, as of this year. I may have left this truly special school a mere 7 years ago, but the memories and people will stay with me for life. By Shakeelah Ismail When I was in Busy Bees we learnt a lot more than what usual pre-schoolers would learn. When I was in grade 1 I was the only one who could read and write thanks to Teacher Shameema’s fantastic learning system. Busy Bees gave me a strong foundation for primary school. Thank you

To effectively describe the impact of the Busy Bees Workshop life on Muddath’thir and his development, I need to describe what Muddath’thir was like before he joined the school. Muddath’thir joined Busy Bees Workshop in 2010 with Teacher Banu in the purple class. He was a very shy little boy and wouldn’t speak to most people. When we attended functions Muddath’thir refused to enter the place where the function is being held and either my husband or I would have to stand outside and keep him entertained. The environment and activities at Busy Bees changed this shy little boy into a confident, talkative and socially friendly youngster, so much so that he basically ran up onto a stage at a magician show on one of the excursions in Grade R. Only at that point did I realise how much development and growth happened during his time at Busy Bees, no ways would the Muddath’thir of past run up onto a stage in front of an audience of almost 150 people. What was it that inspired this positive growth and development? I think it’s a combination of the environment, culture, activities and the warm, friendly and dedicated teachers. Muddath’thir participated in speech and drama, catrobatkidz, pottery and madrassah during his time at Busy Bees, activities which certainly complimented the learning and development. The warm and friendly teachers inspired confidence, he was able to express himself in ring-time or while completing his daily tasks and at no point would there be fear of being criticised. The weekly “grace and courtesy” programme also contributed significantly to the discipline and social etiquette instilled at the school. It was our decision to continue Muddath’thir’s time at the school to include Grade R; this decision was certainly the best as I think the confidence and his ability to express himself was fine tuned in this year. The fact that he was the “big boy” of the school certainly made the Class of 2012 a proud bunch of busy bees. Post Busy Bees, Muddath’thir is a confident and aspiring little boy; he appears to be coping very well at his new school and continuously refers to Busy Bees as “my school”……certainly a Busy Bee for life. Luqmaan, the second busy bee in our family and is currently in the purple class and I look forward to similar results. A big shukran and thank you to all the Busy Bees teachers for the dedication and love you show our little kids.

Assalamu alaikum Our son, Daanyaal Ebrahim, attended Busy Bees Workshop from the age of three (3) and completed Grade R in 2012. We had the opportunity to witness him blossom from a tiny, shy 3yr old, entering the Purple Class into an extremely confident, slightly taller Grade R graduate, under the care, guidance and patience of Principal Shameema and her very capable staff. Busy Bees Workshop will always be highly recommended by us as a learnership institution, not only for its high quality of education, but also for the creative and interactive environment the learners get to experience on a daily basis – their version of learning made fun! We as parents could not be more pleased for choosing the Busy Bees ‘Montessori’ Workshop as it has laid a strong foundation for Daanyaal’s academic future Insha’Allah Ameen! We always felt comfortable raising any concerns which were dealt with immediately in a very professional, yet, caring manner. A special acknowledgement towards the most accommodating teachers and staff for always making us, as parents, feel secure in knowing our boy will be treated with love and care daily. Last but not least, our Dear Principal Shameema displays a love of learning and a love of children that provides the perfect environment for a child to grow and thrive!! May the Almighty grant you many more years to be able to share your knowledge with many more eager little learners, Insha’Allah Ameen! May the Busy Bees Workshop continue to grow from strength to strength Ameen! Many Thanks
